North-Manchester-based property managers Logistica FM contracted Salt Town Contractors to perform roofing remedial works for a Waitrose site in Ruislip. After thoroughly investigating the site, our team carried out vital repairs to restore the roof’s health.

Roofing Solutions

After surveying the site, preparation for remedial works began with a thorough cleaning. We performed a biocidal wash to remove algae and mould from the gutters. This ensured the gutters were suitable for boarding to divert water runoff.

The team installed gutter sumps and applied a PU waterproofing coating to create a water-resilient barrier to prevent flooding and future water ingress.

We cleaned the remainder of the roof area in the biocidal wash to effectively remove the remaining algae, mould and lichen. The use of biocidal wash can guarantee the cleanliness of the roof for up to 5 years.

To finish the repair, we primed all detail work to ensure better paint adhesion to the surface and increase the paintwork’s durability.

Results & Future

Upon completion of the client’s requests, it was noted the remainder of the roof was in a poor state of repair. Furthermore, an insufficient and failing handrail to the hatch was noted and brought to the manager’s attention.

Salt Town Contractor’s efficient and professional approach resulted in an additional request for them to cost the remainder of the work. The team continues working closely with Logistica FM and creating appropriate solutions to site issues.
